Munich, September 17, 2026With the new INKA 3 compact unit, HAWE Hydraulik is introducing a very interesting solution for servicing yaw and rotor braking circuits in wind turbines. During maintenance or in the event of a power outage, this solution can be used to pressurize the braking system as needed—and faster than with any manual hand pump.

This is very easy to do with a standard cordless screwdriver, which is part of the basic equipment in every maintenance vehicle. Simply attach it to the prepared shaft end of the brake unit motor. When the cordless screwdriver is activated, it drives the directly coupled hydraulic pump and builds up the required pressure in the brake circuit. The manual pump normally used for this purpose is no longer needed. The strenuous task of pumping with a hand lever for several minutes is replaced by operating the cordless screwdriver.

The new INKA compact unit in size 3, equipped with a built-in radial or external gear pump, can achieve operating pressures of up to 700 bar and flow rates of up to 23 l/min. The maximum displacement is 14 liters. By using an oil-immersed motor, the INKA 3 achieves high power density in a compact design. Motors are available in all standard voltage ranges and energy efficiency classes.

The INKA 3 compact unit can be used for all sizes of brakes and rotor locks in wind turbines. Suitable units can generally be configured using the HAWE modular design system. With optionally available integrated sensors and its compact design, this compact unit offers a future-proof solution with condition monitoring for demanding braking systems.

You can experience the new INKA 3 compact unit and other exciting solutions for wind turbines at WindEnergy in Hamburg from September 22–25, 2026. Visit HAWE at Booth EG.211 in Hall B1.
