On closed loop position control systems an additional superimposed velocity feedback control circuit that is used particularly on drives with electrical servomotors.
The velocity feedback loop does not provide any advantage on hydraulic drives with low damping D H, but is advantageous if it is used together with acceleration feedback (controller concepts).
