Sum power controller

Adjustment system for double pumps with an equally high flow rate, whose adjustment devices are mechanically or hydraulically coupled and which transport the flows in two different circuits with different pressures.

The task of the sum power controller is to control the pivoting angle of the pumps depending on the sum pressure of both pumps such that the maximum power is not exceeded. In this way, although the delivery flows of both pumps are reduced by the same amount, the pressures can increase to the power limit (Figure S 112).

The sum power controller is a typical control system in mobile hydraulics. Example: Drive of both caterpillars of an excavator.

Alternative: Limit load controller.
