Interaction of various seals at a sealing point (e.g. on a piston rod) to address the increased sensitivity to leakage with operating conditions that are becoming harder at the same time: a situation that is becoming increasingly difficult with individual seals (Figure D 15).
The components of the sealing system are chosen in relation to material and shape to suit the operating load, the hydrodynamic conditions in the sealing gap, the reduction of the leakage among other aspects.
