If the actual value cannot be processed directly in its present form, it will first need to be pre-processed in a suitable manner, i.e. converted for processing.
Processing of actual values (or signals) for computer processing:
Input values such as measured values or signals from peripherals must first be pre-processed, i.e. filtered, the variable nominated, scaled in some cases, possibly amplified and perhaps even multiplied by another variable before it can be processed in the computer.
Example: the processing of actual values (or signals) for a proportional valve covers an input voltage range of 0 to 10 V and a network with null bias and amplification for modifying the sensors.
