Position/time diagram

Of a cylinder:

Qualitative illustration of the movement process of a cylinder, starting with the acceleration phase and the different working movements over the holding phase to the reflux (Figure W 8 a). The illustration may be supplemented by the accompanying acceleration position/time diagram (b).

Of a functional group:

Qualitative illustration of dependent workflows and states of a functional group, e.g. multiple cylinders in order to get an overview of the function sequence (Figure W 9). This method of illustration can also take place in steps and is a preliminary stage before the function diagram.
