Optimising the controller

A controller, in fluid technology must be configured through fine tuning of the various parameters (e.g. P-component, I-component, etc.) or for state controllers of the amplifiers such that the system achieves its optimal transfer properties. As a rule, this takes place on the adjustment elements provided for this.

However, controller optimisation can also be performed by replicating the system and then simulating the different controller settings. There are also optimisation strategies and optimisation criteria, such as:

  • tuning regulations (Ziegler-Nichols methods),
  • root locus methods,
  • system simulation.
