Figure A 25: Opened control circuit

In some test procedures on control processes, the control circuit is "opened". As a result an input and an output are produced at the interface. The opened circuit can then be treated as a single control circuit element. The loop must be opened at a point that has no effect on feedback (mostly in the path for the controlled variable, less frequently the path for the correcting variable) (Figure A 25).
