Internal power split

As far as hydrostatic transmissions with an internal power split are concerned, the input torque from the drive motor is fed through the transmission using mechanical means only, while hydraulic torque conversion is only used to increase or reduce the torque level (Figure I 13). This improves efficiency by 10 to 15% in a given rotating direction. Efficiency decreases in the opposite direction.
