Type of seal for seal applications in which the seal must remain at a distance from the surface to be sealed during specific parts of the operating sequence. For this purpose in the majority of cases radial grooved ring seals are used that act as stationary seals in the inflated state (Figure A 24). Example: Sealing test specimens in pipe test presses or shaft sealing in conjunction with sliding ring seals.
