Impressed flow

The flow rate in a hydraulic system with a variable pump and appropriate adjustment corresponds to the requirements in accordance with which the adjustment functions.

The term impressed, i.e. pre-defined, flow (Figure E 6) is used.

The term "constant flow system" often used is not correct here, as the flow is not constant. The system with impressed flow is also termed a "(constant) flow source".
