Fabric materials

Fabric group for seals that comprise textile fabrics that have been impregnated with elastomer components.

The seals manufactured from this material are suitable for very high pressures due to their high mechanical strength. As the fabric structure is retained on the finished seal, a large number of very small lubricant pockets are formed such that the friction on such seals is very low. They have also been proven in heavy duty applications.

As the fabric seals are very stiff, difficulties can arise at low pressures. In such cases often only a bearing surface made of fabric is used (Figure G 14).
