Differential pressure measurement

To measure the differential pressure Δp the two pressures p 1 and p 2 must be separated from each other by diaphragms that are connected by a plunger. The deflection of the two diaphragms then corresponds to the pressure difference. As this pressure difference can be between very small, in relation to the system pressure, and very large and single-sided, differential pressure gauges are mostly of very complex design.
