Aromatic or paraffinic hydrocarbons in which certain hydrogen atoms are replaced with chlorine. Low flammability is achieved here by means of chlorine (CETOP RP 100).
Certain chlorinated hydrocarbons belong to the group of fire resistant fluids of class HFD. In Germany chlorinated hydrocarbons are only used in closed hydraulic systems in coal mining due to their PCB content (HFDS fluids group).
They cause problems particularly on disposal.
