Address

Memory location number for the unambiguous identification of a memory location. The number of elements from a finite quantity of words for the identification of storage cells (memory locations) in contiguous memory areas or in function units is termed the address space.

The interrelationship between memory areas does not need to be defined by the technical layout of the memory, instead it can also be defined by other, changing requirements (EDIN 44 300 Part 1).
