The long-standing partnership between HAWE Hydraulik and the Sachsenkam volunteer fire department is being further strengthened: As a token of appreciation for the tireless work of the firefighters, the hydraulics company is presenting the fire department with a state-of-the-art thermal imaging camera. The donation was handed over today, March 20, 2025, in the presence of the mayor of Sachsenkam, Andreas Rammler, HAWE COO Christof Gilnhammer and the fire department commander Josef Baumgartner.
"The fire department is an essential partner for our company. They not only assist us in emergencies, but also support us during evacuation drills and ensure a high level of safety at the site. It is therefore particularly important to us to support the fire department with this donation," emphasizes Christof Gilnhammer. The new thermal imaging camera replaces an outdated model that no longer meets today's technical requirements. It will be used in particular for operations on HAWE's factory premises and for rescue operations in the region.
To further support the fire department, HAWE employees are offered free secondary memberships. This also gives non-Sachsenkam residents the opportunity to get actively involved and reinforce the local emergency services in the event of an emergency. The company is also committed to encouraging young people to join the volunteer fire department.
"The cooperation between HAWE Hydraulik and the Sachsenkam volunteer fire department has existed since 1977 and is an example of social responsibility in action," explains Mayor Andreas Rammler. This partnership not only increases safety at the site, but also raises awareness of voluntary work.
