Switching methods (electric)

In the case of the electrical activation of continuously adjustable valves, a distinction is made between two different switching types:

Passive switching:

The electrical input signal is directly fed to the electromechanical signal converter. If this contains more than one coil, , parallel circuits and regenerative circuits are all possible.

Active switching:

The electrical input signal runs through an electronic amplifier circuit before it reaches the electromechanical converter. Example: Valve with integrated electronic controller (EDIN 24 311).

The switching method influences the signal duration and the frequency limit of a continuously adjustable valve.
