The part of a hose line, which enables it to be connected to devices. In addition, the (fixed) fitting must be connected to the (elastic) hose such that this inclusion still has a quadruple safety level at nominal pressure.
The connection designs of these hose assemblies are standardised in DIN 20 078 in three form groups (Figure S 25). A further distinction is made between:
- screw-in assemblies, in which the nipple and the socket are screwed together; however, this may damage the hose. The connection is detachable.
- Pressed or crimped connections, which cannot be used again, as both parts are pressed together with the hose. Today, these are widely used (Figure S 26).
